Nasri Aiming For New Heights
Samir Nasri has said that he would try to make sure that his game reaches new height this summer.
The 2014-15 Season is going to be Nasri’s fourth at Manchester City. The playmaker had gone to the Etihad Stadium in 2011 and he was not an instant hit there. He struggled to find his feet initially, but, he seems to have adapted himself to the life in Manchester now and in the previous season, he proved to be quite productive for the Sky Blues. He was fantastic in the big matches. In total, he made 34 league appearances during the season in which he found the back of the net 7 times and provided quite a few assists as well.
Talking to the reporters a few days back, Nasri said, “I found it a little tough here at City at the start, but, I am quite comfortable now.”
“During my second season here, I wasn’t able to do what was expected of me. I have no problem in admitting that. I get a significant amount of bucks to play for City and thus, I am expected to do a good job on the field. Whenever I don’t do well, the fans have every right to feel gutted.”
“I think I lived up to the expectations last season and I would try to perform even better this season.”
Nasri was not given a place in the World Cup squad of France. Thus, he spent most parts of the off season holidaying with his better half and now, he would be totally fresh ahead of the Premier League. His manager Manuel Pellegrini would surely expect quality performances from him again this summer.
Nasri would join the Sky Blues’ squad tomorrow probably along with Alvaro Negredo.
