Samir Nasri had a smooth operation of his groin yesterday and he has now started his recovery period. He is supposed to remain out for about 4-5 weeks.
Nasri’s groin condition had been getting worse and worse and it was turning out to be pretty hard for him to get through even the training sessions. So, the medical staff of Manchester City advised him to get the surgery done.
Earlier today, Nasri uploaded a post-surgery snap of his on twitter. He is smiling in that photo and the caption says, “Grateful to everyone who supported me. The operation was successful. Hope to recover soon.”
The City boss Manuel Pellegrini also talked about Nasri ahead of the team’s Champions League match against Roma.
When asked how much time, he reckons, it would take Nasri to be back in action again, the Chilean said, “I have not talked about that to the doctors. So, I am not sure. But, he should be coming back at the start of November. That’s what I believe.”
“He’s having immense difficulty while training. So, he had no choice, but, to get that problem fixed.”
Pellegrini also hinted that Frank Lampard, the ex Chelsea player who is at City on loan presently, might spend the whole season at Etihad only.
When asked if he is planning to extend the loan deal of the play maker, Pellegrini said, “We would do whatever we think is good for the sake of the club.”
Lampard’s parent club is the MLS club New York City that signed the 36-year old this summer as free agent.
The veteran has had a big impact playing for Manchester City. He has struck at key times for the Sky Blues. So, their desire to retain him for the second half of the season is not surprising.
